Rhythmetrix day 2 - the ceremony

Ceremony had us take the mushrooms, then lay down. 20 or so minutes later Max, Matthew and jesse did a musical thing that was exquisite. Max on drums, Jesse on percussion and hand pan, Matthew doing didjeridu amplified. I was rignt in front of the speaker - i was a speaker hugger.

I took 5 grams, apparently more than anyone else. Could have taken more but I didn’t necessarily need to get obliterated.. might have liked it, but my tolerance/taste was already a littl beyond others.

We had a mental health person named Briana, who specialized in Buddhist psychology, among other things. Nice young lady.

There was a moment of saying no other things… not acid, not dmt, not even pot, although later in the evening as we were coming down, lots of people did smoke pot. At one point towards the end, Max asked if anyone had any cannabis. A joint was procured, I told him don’t you dare offer it to me. He passed past me to Tony.

There was this one participant, J. It came out over the course of the night she is one of the people who “hasn’t watched the news in 15 years”, had no idea who JD Vance was. She has tended to be the last one to the group meets. I guess she had a nasty marriage, now she’s more into women. It happens.

At one point she had a question.. what do you do when someone is doing somehting that is counter to the well being of the group: do you confront it or jus leave? I answered with my story of the dude at the dragonfest circle with the big hoop drum. I should write this story up sometimes. Short version: I called him out for not being able to listen to the rest of the circle and he left in a huff, and the drumming continued. I was left in a bad space, and there is the scene at the calming tent. I guess my answer was confront it. As i left to get something from he car, i told her she should watch the news more ofteh, that sort of thing is happening in the world right now. I guess i’m being kind of judgemental about her. At the end of the circle and there were only a few people left, she left a pile of trash (empty cans, snacks behind. Good news for me, as i was the last person on the circl and i had some fritos to eat.

scene where someone came to complain about the noise. Max told them off saying there were more of us than them. Kind of was an asshole about it, and Jesse kind of called him out about it.

I walked around in teh woods at night with a flashlight that includes a black light. I was surprised to see the exposed roots glowing.

Some of the plants glowed. These are the same things, once with black light, one with normal light. These plants had some red laves visible during the day.
